Auto Seat Cleaning process
We get calls from customers that have stains in their car seats. Their main objective is to remove the stains. Sometimes it’s possible, sometimes it’s not. Our three-step process includes shampooing, steam cleaning, and hot water extraction. Some seats hide stains well, yet some seats will leave a stain behind simply from spilling water on the surface. We see it time and time again, unfortunately. But never fear, there is a solution, and we can help. Follow along and see how we go about removing stains.
We prep a fresh batch of safe eco commercial cleaners in a pressure sprayer diluted usually at 50/50 with water. Just a few sprays is all that’s necessary. Once the shampoo sits on the surface for two or three minutes the next step is to steam and agitate the surface.
The process above is simply scrubbing the surface with the brush head of the steamer to agitate and loosen the grime from the seat. This process not only loosens the dirt but helps to bring the dirt to the surface making the extraction process much easier. After scrubbing for a minute or so, the seat is ready for hot water extraction.
Within seconds of steaming the seats, We follow up with our visible upholstery tool with heated carpet extractor and start extracting the seat. Looking at the photo above one can see a side by side of the results. After going back and forth a few times to make sure all areas are covered the seat is as clean as it’s going to get. The extractor is one of the real workhorses in the cleaning process and it’s a MUST have.
Once the extraction is complete, the seat is ready for drying. The seat is not “wet,” it’s simply damp. Usually, after 30 minutes to 1 hour the seat is completely dry. on a hot summer day, it may only take a few minutes to completely dry, while on a cold day, a bit longer. Our process is proven and simple and it all begins with the prep work.
